Like the videos and the tips aren't bad, but like most things that advertise as a life hack it's 95% common sense, to the point where I have always muted unnecessary strings naturally because it sounds better.... Unless I'm playing something punk or grunge where the chaotic overtones are intentional.

WRONG ,WRONG,WRONG! The Les Paul ES is NOT like a 335. It only has a block of wood under the Bridge and not all the way through like a 335.It weighs next to nothing because it does not have the long center block.

What version Chapman guitar is that?

The more it goes, the more I can't cope the super heavy mid hump of Tube Screamer type pedals. I find them boring and no good sounding in the long run. They're good in a certain mix context where you need to cut thru a busy orchestration

Dr. Chapman , I just LOVE the sound you got from your set-up this day ! I am all to painfully aware that our tone comes mostly from our hands opposed to the gear but could you tell me what your settings were that day , Neck PU , volume levels , pedels ??? Just freak'en love that woody strat sound/tone . I prefer to hear my set-up played by another guitarist for me to hear the sound a bit differently...does that make sense ? Anyway , rock on brother , I really dig your work !

I liked that Badcat. I need to get one now. Thanks for helping me spend more money. I have a lot of distortion pedals and later swang over to more of just OD pedals and one that stays on my board is under $50.00US. Its crazy good sounding and doesn't color your tone and just boosts that bottom end and tightens it up from being flubby. Caline Capt Silver CP-76. It has a TS9 and 808 switch and the TS9 is where my pedal lives.

If I'm playing a single note and holding it, I use my picking hand to mute any strings above the note and the fretting hand to mute any strings below. Easy and works great.

Over the last year or so, I’ve been lucky enough to discover a few artists that really changed mg life. First is Irish musician Siomha and the album Infinite Space. So good, so talented and so true and honest. Number two is Hermanos Gutierrez . Two brothers with such a cinematic, sentimental longing in their music. And cool moustaches. And lastly Japanese pianist and jazz goddess, Hiromi! Completely blew me away, especially with the album Spark. Her latest album Sonic Wonderland is also just a delight. Thanks for sharing great music tips, Rob!

I'd say I'm an intermediate to be completely honest 🤷but in all fairness I'm not just going all in on guitar and I do delve into other instruments too (I'm learning the saxophone now and I have learned other instruments as well, though I wouldn't say I'm particularly good at any one of them)

That's awesome rob. Being self taught, these are the golden nuggets to getting better... So basically being taught not self taught 😂
